Born in Lagos, raised in London, Chicago made. Feeling a strong connection to his family and culture, his pseudonym BowlBay is derived from the first initials of his siblings and parents.

BowlBay (aka BAY) has always been drawn to music, being a self-taught Producer & DJ. He put his skills to the test by entering remix competitions. After winning the top prizes in these competitions and gaining recognition from his peers, he decided to leave his 9 to 5 to open up a production studio to pursue music full time.

His catalogue has over hundreds of songs, across genres including HipHop, Afrobeats, R&B and House. His inspirations include some of the greatest producers such as Dilla, Tribe Called Quest, Ye & more recently Kaytranada & Disclosure to name a few; so it was no surprise when he decided to relocate to the US recently to pursue his dream and bring his sounds to Chicago.

Since being in Chicago he has worked with over 60 artists & performed at local classics like Celeste, Hubbard Inn, Sleeping Village, Kashmir & The Wit. He’s also performed in NY, Miami, Dubai and Lagos. He’s currently working on his album drawing inspiration from his experiences in the USA and has featured on Chicago’s very own Global Currrency.
